Some sketches, to get things going again here. I'm thinking about changes on this blog, the direction it should take.

Changes...

A little more than a month ago, a very nice lady representing Techland, one of few Poland based game developers, contacted me about a job opening in Warsaw. After some consideration I've decided to end/suspend my adventure with freelancing (quite an adventure it was I tell you :P ) and join their team. So for almost a month now I've been working as a concept artist on a project called Dead Island : Riptide. Keep an eye on it. It's going to be really cool :)


Naturally I can't show any of my work stuff so here's some most recent stuff from my freelancing gigs. I have a lot more to show when the time's right.

First off, two characters I finished for a client. The first one is Ooze Priest.

This one is called Xesa.

January WIPs...

Some concepts I'm working on in between other stuff, thou calling it that is a bit of a stretch considering I've started one of them more than a year ago :P Just been busy lately :) They're all personal pieces, mostly started out as warmup doodles, hence the usual boring topics, aliens, creatures, mutated guys etc...

Beholder

Ok, finally finished. Added some minor details and fx.

I'd really like to get into TCG illustrations, I have a gamedev conceptart background and most of my portfolio proves that :P So this is a first stab at doing a sort of rpg illustration portfolio :) More to come.

BTW. I changed the layout of the blog a bit, still needs some polishing. My website on the other hand needs a total make-over :/

Beholder WIP

Something I'm working on. I'm trying to do some more finished fantasy illustrations illustrations. This is meant to be a Beholder. Still not finished :)

Alien Concept

Yet another one :P Seems that I always have a lot of stories in my head when working on something. But when it comes to naming the finished piece it's either a "creature" or "alien" or simply "face". So this time it's an alien concept I've been working on in between jobs. I couldn't decide on his left hand so I made an alternative version. I figured that the guy on the left is a regular alien, and the one on the right could be a pilot, his hand helps him communicate with his space ship - sort of like symbiotic connection. Kind of like in Battlestar Galactica :P

Oh and a WIP. It's for last week's COW on CA.org - theme was "Swamp God". It's actually finished, I posted it in the finals thread, even got few votes, but some ppl pointed out that it's very dark. So I will be going back to it, trying to make it less obscure :)

Finished randomness...

A couple of finished pieces...nothing special just the warmup/break/random concepts I've been working on in-between other stuff.

The first one is sort of a fishman, doesn't resemble fish in any way now but I got used to call him that since he had fishy features when I started him. Some people say he reminds them of Elvis. So let me introduce - Elvis Fishman :P

And a weird looking devilish guy, which started out as a doodle on top of a brain photo, just to exercise nice red-orange palette.

WIPs

A little progress on some of recent wips :)

Here's something I almost never do - a speedpaint :P Or what is a feeble try at doing one :P 1.5 hr. The topic was "tentacles", but it was also suggested that it can include tits, just like painting tentacles wasn't fun enough :P

Sketcharoo...

I've been doing a lot of commercial work recently, so I don't really have time to do any personal stuff. These are just warmups and concept sketches I do before diving into freelance :P

This one was for this week's COW, on ConceptArt.org but deadline is...was one minute ago and I didn't make it :P

And another alien concept WIP.

A dude I've been working on...I plan on doing a couple of more variations of this one, just to have this kind of work in my conceptart portfolio.

And some wips and sketches of concepts and illustrations I've been working on. Not sure if I'll finish any of those thou :)
